Anyhow, it wasn't until just today that I finally broke down and bought a new printer. Truthfully, I would have bought one a long time ago but my budget nazi husband didn't consider it a priority. For him, not having a printer at home was no big deal...he'd just print stuff off at work that was important. For me, if I needed to print something or make a copy of a document, I'd e-mail it to my mom and ask her to print it for me or I'd have to rake up the kids and take them to the 'quiet' area of the library to make copies. By the way, the 'quiet' area of the library is not a place that we spend a lot of time :)
Matt is off work this week, but spending about 8 hours a day with Nate at Cub Scout Day Camp. I had it all figured out...I was going to Office Depot this morning, purchasing a printer, bringing it home and setting it up before Matt got home. I wouldn't even consider myself 1% technology savvy, but I was certain I could figure this out. He was gonna be SO SURPRISED!
We got home, I fed the kids lunch and got Adri down for her nap. Just as I was about to unpack the printer from it's box, Matt and Nate rolled in. Okay, surprise bust! Camp ended early today because of the rain. Luckily, he appreciated my desire to set this puppy up all alone and decided to vegetate on the couch while I began my mission...but not too far away! I was just about to complete my task when it asked for a network password...URGGG! He was the only one that would know that...and guess what? He couldn't remember it! After a few minutes of searching, he found the password and I completed the set up...I'M SO PROUD OF MYSELF! I 'mostly' did it by myself!
Nate and Gabe asked to play a game on the computer after dinner. Gabe said, "What is that?" after sitting down at the desk. "Yeah, Mom...what is that? Oh wait...don't tell me...is that a printer? My very own printer? Can I print worksheets and homework off the internet?" Nate asked. "Worksheets?" Gabe questioned. "Lets use it to make copies of our face and hands and turn them into paper airplanes!" I love my boys...and their HUGE personality differences :)
So, here I sit, next to my shiny black new printer :) I've been planning my print party all day...just waiting for the kids to get to bed so that I could print, print, print! So far, I've printed Nate's birthday party invites, a few coupons, a note to Matt for Father's Day and a picture.
What print job will tomorrow hold? I guess if I can't find anything to print, I can make copies of my face and hands and turn them into paper airplanes!
Good night!
loved this-and I can relate a bit---- Shannon and I set up our new black printer (from Office Depot I might add) without having to call Kevin!!!
