FUN TIMES

Springtime at Martin Manor!

Springtime has arrived and we have enjoyed our time outside, exploring our new property. We can't wait to get rid of the mud, but realize it may be a while before that happens. I must admit, I'm getting pretty tired of hosing the dog's paws off every time I let her back in the house!

Gabe can't spend enough time looking for worms!

Keely couldn't love this place any more!

Both of the boys love riding on the tractor with Daddy! When they saw him coming down the road, both of them took off down the driveway to meet him and hopped on! We are lucky that Matt's mom and dad only live about 1/2 mile down the road and have a tractor that we can borrow when we need some help with 'heavy lifting.' Matt won't admit it, but I think he was a little excited about needing to use the tractor to move some big rocks away from the house!

I don't know what they like more...riding their bikes on our long driveway or riding through the water!

On the days that have been nice, we've walked down to the road to meet Nate when he gets off the bus. I pull Adri in the wagon and Gabe rides his bike. When she sees Nate, she hops up out and runs for the bus to greet Nate with a hug and kiss. She screams, "NAAAATE!" the whole time!

They didn't want to pose for this picture because the sun was a bit bright that day!

My grandma and grandpa got us a Kitchenaid mixer as a housewarming present. It is AWESOME! Gabe and I broke it in this week by making shamrock cookies for him to take to school.

Tuesday night is Fazoli's kids night and while enjoying our $0.99 kids meals and the magic show, Gabe mastered a skill that he's been trying to perfect for months! After dinner, we joined Nate's cub scout troop at Coopers for bowling!

Library Time!

The library honored Georgia O'Keeffe this week by hosting a craft for the kids.
They were asked to paint an abstract picture of flowers.
Nate's artwork.

Gabe's artwork.

I wasn't brave enough to let Adrianna tackle this project, so she walked around and played with puzzles.

Date Night!

Our 'Young Marrieds Class' went on a scavenger hunt and then went to dinner as a group last weekend. Personally, I think it was just an act of kindness that we were allowed to be in the group. We're on the cusp of being 'young' and I think there's only one other couple in there that have been married longer than us...and they're some of the leaders of the class! Thanks to our friend Athena for making up such great clues. It was a great date night and out of the norm from what we usually chose to do when we have time away from the kids! Dinner and a trip to Lowe's or Meijer can get a little monotonous!

Here are just a few of the clues and pictures that were taken. We had to go to the place described in the clue and then take a picture with both of us in it. There were 20 clues all together and we only had about two hours to complete the list...so towards the end of the evening, we just drove by the last few places and held up our thumbs for the shot!

"Pay a visit to the lion that guards the apples in the woods."

APPLEWOOD

"It's not Herman or baseball, but it might be a place where you take your last fall."

PEE WEE CEMETERY

(I guess he's trying to get me on the ground, here!)

"It's words are not written in brass, but it does have a tunnel of glass."

CITY HALL

(What is he kicking?)

"This mustang doesn't have an engine, glass and tires. Instead it's made of twisted copper wires."

PENDLETON HIGH SCHOOL

(Here we were running out of time!)

Have a great weekend!
