Happy Birthday, Gabriel Joseph!

It's hard to believe that 4 years ago, that sweet little boy came into our lives. He was born after almost 2 years of trying to conceive and being told (by many) that we couldn't have any more kids...boy were they WRONG!!! He is more than an answer to prayer. He's our miracle...one of them! He makes us laugh, daily, with his quick wit and big imagination. He's creative and strong willed. I enjoy watching him grow and mature and look forward to lots more laughs with this sweet little boy.

Gabe's 4th birthday started with a candlelit breakfast of his choice..."booberry nuffins!"

His party was on Saturday afternoon at our house and we celebrated with WAY too much food and cake and ice cream!

There were LOTS of cool presents...monster trucks, a monster truck obstacle course, a truck with a trailer that lights up, a basketball, games, play dough, and....A BIGFOOT!

Adri's surgery Day

The worst part of the day was actually getting up at 4:30 a.m. Let it be known...I am NOT a morning person...neither is Adrianna!

I expected big fat tears when the nurse came to take her into surgery, but she willingly went to her and didn't look back. Lucky for me, huh?

Our time in recovery was a little harder on me, I think, because of her bloody nose. It worried big brother, Nate, too. She never tugged at her eye or acted bothered my the IV in her arm until just before they took it out. After about 2 1/2 hours, we were on our way back home and other than being quite groggy, she was pleasant (and also on some good pain meds). She enjoyed apple juice and some graham crackers and then cat napped the rest of the way home.

After a little play time, she enjoyed a hearty lunch (a waffle, frozen peas and yogurt...I let her pick). Now she's napping and I foresee a pleasant evening in our future.

As you can see, it didn't take her long to get back to her self! I think stacking her yogurt on her cup is something she learned from her brothers!

Thank you for all of the prayers. We are looking forward to a perfect hearing test in a few weeks and a future where I don't have to hold her down every morning to scrub her eye or answer strangers questions such as, "Does she have pink eye?"
