It seems a little strange to most, but I actually get a bit sad when school starts. I really enjoy spending time with the kiddos in the summer and breaking away from our regular routine. And WOW, we've had a good summer, too! Here's some pictures of our last few weeks together before things get back to normal!
Nate and Gabe insisted that I take this picture of them at Old Navy last week. We were there buying school clothes and Nate told me that he wanted to dress just like these 'managuns.'
After a birthday party last weekend, Gabe couldn't keep his eyes open on the way home...but he forgot to take off his mask (a most awesome party favor)!
We have enjoyed a few 'cooler' days lately..we smothered ourselves in bug spray and got to enjoy some time outside riding bikes and playing in the yard, sandbox, and woods!
What is it about Mammaws and Papaws? Are you required to have ice cream in the freezer if you have grandkids? Our boys figured this out at an early age and the first thing out of their mouths when we walk through the door is, "Can I have some ice cream?" The answer is usually yes, even if we haven't eaten dinner yet! It didn't take long for Adrianna to figure this out, too!
We had such an amazing time in St. Joseph, MI a few weeks ago, we decided to take the kids there before school started. So, for our last getaway of the summer, the 5 of us ventured to Michigan for a weekend of sun and the beach!!!
I was the lucky one...I got to do this a few times a day!
It was an awesome weekend!
On another note...we have a start date on the construction of our house!
