Nothing major going on around here, other than our routine chaos! I am done asking myself when the craziness will stop, because just as soon as we get into a groove, things get stirred up again!
Life with 3 kids is starting to get a 'different' kind of crazy. Yes, we're out of diapers and for the most part, we're through scheduling our activities around meals, snacks and naps. All 3 of them love school, which makes for chipper mornings and not much drama at homework time. That's a MAJOR change from last year :)
The most exciting thing that I get to witness as they age, is that they're also developing their own interests. True to their personalities, their interests are as different as night and day! Adri loves dancing and often refers to her 'moves' as 'magic tricks (she makes me laugh...OUT LOUD). Gabe is quite persistent about beginning karate (he calls it his karate skill) and likes to show his moves with his most loved light saber swords made from pool noodles. Nate is more than bummed, that swimming season is over and has been begging to get back into swimming. Are we crazy to think that joining a team that practices 4 times per week and has several required meets is a big commitment for a 4th grader? Luckily, he agrees, and we think we've found an alternative. The YMCA of Anderson, has opened a new location in Pendleton that offers, dance, gymnastics, art classes and karate...that's just for the kids! They also have a lot of fun stuff for adults, too! If we're members, we can use the pool in Anderson and whether Nate chooses to swim on their team or not, we'll still be able to go to their family swim every Sunday. This will also help with cabin fever when the cold weather gets here! And the best part, we only have to pay a portion of the membership fee because our insurance has gym membership incentives!
Here are just a few of my favorite pictures from the last week or so...
All of these clothes were gifted to us from a dear friend! I don't think I'm going to have to buy Adrianna anything for the winter except maybe socks and some new boots!
I don't know why I love this one so much...it's just cute!
Last summer, we brought a plant home from my mom and dad's and there was a toad in the pot. We put him in our window well and he's remained there for over a year! The kids love playing with him and for some reason, he's been the most coveted activity this week...except for when he pees on the boys! They repay him by giving him a ride down the slide!
I needed a creative way to remind the kids to take their shoes off when they come in the house...I am not ready to clean up muddy foot prints everyday once fall gets here and the ground starts getting mushy again. I printed this pic at Meijer and mod podged it onto a piece of wood. It's hanging in our laundry room :) My new love...mod podge!
When do these little things stop being so important? I hope NEVER! We discovered that Adri could swing all by herself this weekend. Matt took the credit and said that he taught her. Sorry, Dad, but I asked her later and she said, "I'm smart, Mom. I just figured it out!" Yes, she's smart...and she's NOT ALLOWED to call me MOM! I prefer Mommy, still :)
Have a great week!
