Wonderful!

Matt and I watched a movie recently where a veteran dad was explaining to a soon to be dad, the basics of parenthood. He said that being a parent goes something like this...awful, awful, awful, wonderful, awful, awful, wonderful, etc. Matt and I giggled about it because it's so true (please don't stone me for being honest)! I most certainly don't like cleaning up urine off the toilet seats (sometimes daily), holding my son down while the doctor sucks goop out of his infected ears, repeating at least 10 times a day, "Choose to obey" to my 2 year old, "Please use your manners" to my 5 year old, and "Homework isn't punishment," to my 8 year old. There are certainly more fun things than changing sheets at 3 a.m. because my beloved toddler had an accident in her bed. And who loves whiney kids more than me? ...AWFUL! This morning, I was laying in bed, waiting for Matt to get out of the shower and Adrianna hopped up in the bed with me. She snuggled up next to me and put her hand on my cheek. "I love you, Mom," she said with a sweet little grin. Sometimes those moments are priceless and somehow she knew that I needed to feel that love right at that moment. ..WONDERFUL! Then she hopped up and elbowed me in the chest. I almost cried. ...AWFUL! I love my kids!
