My two youngest Houdinis and I enjoyed a morning at the
library and lunch at McDonalds with two additions…Sammie and Shelton. My cheeks hurt by the time I got
home. The entire morning, I kept a
mental note of all funny things said and although I didn’t remember all of it,
here are just a few things that made me cackle…and yes, I did cackle!
Sammie: Will
they have snacks at the library again?
Gabe: They always have
snacks. That’s why I like to
go. But, if you don’t sit quietly
and listen to Miss Peggy and then do your craft, Mommy won’t let you have the
snack. Me: When have I never let you have the
snack at the library, Gabe? Gabe:
Mmmmmm. Never, I guess. But you don’t let me have seconds. I thought it was because I never sit
still.
Sammie: You have some neat places back here to hide things
like cookies and snacks. Gabe: That would be a good idea, but I’d just rather eat them.
Shelton: (singing his ABC's)…W X Y and Z…Now I’ve sang my ABC’s, next time won’t you take me to McDonald’s again!
Adri: I like
Shelton. He’s a good eater and he
likes catsup like me. But can I
sit by Gabe, because I know he won’t take my catsup.
Me: Shelton,
don’t eat your catsup with your fingers.
Use your French fries and nuggets to eat it. Shelton: They’re all gone.
I’ll use my apples.
Gabe: Can
Sammie and Shelton come to my house?
I promise I won’t take my clothes off.
Sammie: I think my Mommy hurt her back because she used her
ice pack too much. Me: I don’t think one thing hurt her
back. I think it was just because
your mom is a go-getter and doesn’t like to sit still. Sammie: She does like to go to Meijer.
Me: We had such
a good time, guys. Thank you for
going to the library and lunch with us today. Shelton: You’re
welcome, but do we have to go home now?
We could come to your house and eat lunch again.
I think this brood has a one track mind…FOOD FOOD FOOD!
All jokes aside, we had a great time this morning. Thanks for sharing your kids with Kim
and Jason!
