As Gabe would say, "Yep, we're farmers," and the fact that we now have barn animals, proves just that! However, we don't officially have a barn, yet, so I'm not sure that we can call ourselves farmers! Guess we'll add, building a chicken coop, to Matt's 'honey do' list! As of now, the baby chicks are happily housed in a water trough!
Gabe can't get enough of these little chicks! He's going to be their best friend, I'm sure. He makes sure they have fresh food and water about 10 times a day and often wants to hold them. He walks them around and tells them about the outside of the house...where they'll eat, scratch, peck, and play. I'm taking bets on how long this enthusiasm will stay! If it fades, I'm sure it will return when we start getting some eggs from them!

Big Brother, Nate, likes to help Adri hold them...although she isn't quite ready to hold one alone!

Decorating Easter Eggs on Saturday night was a true testament to the difference in my children's personalities. Adri wanted to mix the colors and see what creation she could come up with (rule breaker). Gabe hurried through it as fast as he could so that he could go back outside to play with the chicks (outdoorsman/hillbilly). And Nate...he was the first one to start and the last one to finish. He decorated each of his eggs with enthusiasm and great detail. Everyone had to be just right (the perfectionist)!
Thanks, Daddy, for the extra set of hands. If it had just been me, supervising this project, I may still be cleaning up egg dye off of the kitchen walls!

Every year, we try to make finding their Easter Baskets a challenge, so we continued with our annual Easter tradition of sending the kids on a little scavenger hunt...leading them to their baskets.
I know you've heard me say that Miss Elise is the best baby sitter ever, but she showed her awesomeness again by surprising the kids on Easter morning by leaving baskets for them on the front porch! We love her!
Pretty awesome Easter treat, huh? Straw glasses!!!
